Heading down on the 9th, 10th, and 11th. So keep those reports coming. Entertaining some customers on the lake, so we need to catch some fish.

Well we launched at Box Canyon and ran up towards the river on Saturday. We had about 35 fish but only 7 that would weigh to 3.5lbs on senkos, brush hogs, worms.

Sunday we fished around the rail road bridge and North and had 9 fish between 2 to 4.5lbs with no unders on the same baits mainly brush hogs.

We went this past labor day weekend as well. Didn't have much luck at all ANYWHERE. We had 3 different boats out on the water and we were everywhere from mile marker 25 or so to the San Padro. Fished alot of spots where we have caught good bass before and could not load the boat with anything. I wonder if the cold front moving in had alot to do with that? I fished with a few friends who have been in many tournaments and just fish for fun even for many years now and they say that was one of the worst trips they have ever seen. If it was just 1 boat I understand but there was 3 of our boats out there. Anywhere from frog fishing all day to carolina riggin. Seemed real slow for sure.

I was only able to go Saturday from around 7 to 10:30 AM . We boated around 8 fish with the biggest being a little over 4 pounds.Had about 3 that were around 3 pounds and the rest 1.5 -2.5 pounds. Missed quite a few on Frogs and Buzzbaits which is all we threw. There was a particular cove smaller cove inside Millers were we got about 5-6 bites super shallow. The rest of the bites were sporadic. I took out some friend one of which is just starting bass fishing and I let them do the trolling so they had a better chance of catching. Nice day.

Was out saturday, sunday and was blown off the lake monday. First i really enjoyed fishing Lake Amistad but the catching wasn't happening for us at all. We spent most of our time around the islands directly north of the Diablo ramp and at the mouth of the Devils. Never have been skunked on Amistad until this past weekend. I am still scratching my head.

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

I hear you! Our whole crew was scratching their heads as well. I finally switched over to carolina rig and started having some better luck but we had buddies throwing frogs and vixen all day and only boated 2 fish.

I don't like to take the kidds fishing without them catching something so I bought a box of worms, fished 3 different spots we had caught perch from before and we used the same worms in all 3 spots needless to say not even a nibble. I know that may sound whiney but, I have never been blanked there before. Maybe all the boat traffic had an effect. After all, Amistad is one of the rare lakes with enough water in it to make cruising, tubing and skiing doable in Texas now. Combine the wind with the wakes and it made it uncomfortable for some.

We'll be back down to Amistad in November if not sooner and I do hope to have a little better luck. In the meantime, it's back to Twin Buttes watching it slowly dry up while trying to feed our "fishing monkey".

Hope I will do better than you guys did throw back. I have not been since March so this is a new lake to me being a little lower than it was, but hopefully some of my old spots will still produce.
