I use the academy rod holders and I'm not saying they are the best but they work fine so long as you have a bait clicker. Otherwise you will lose your rod. The rebar and PVC ones I see on here are definitely worth the tine to make but I prefer something lightweight when I'm banking. Lord knows we have enough [censored] to carry as is!

I always used the academy ones without many issues but I river fish and wedge them in a fallen tree and rocks on the bank so I know it is only a matter of time. I went to HD last weekend and for $25.00 picked up enough material to make 5 rod holders. I will be using the pvc/rebar/hose clamps from here on out.

I use the cheapo rod holders from walmart that are $1.88. All I expect them to do is just hold my rods upright though. I'm pretty religous about attending to my rods and I like to leave my spool open with the baitclicker on so I'm not expect them to do anything but hold my rods upright. Someday I'll get around to making some good holders but I got other chit to do right now...

I was selling some scrap metal and spotted a pile of screw type anchors 4' plate with 1.5 wide pipe 8' high and the screw anchor 14' deep. Bought all for 5 bones. Some type of anchor for a temporary canopy. Some pvc with a little dipit, a little paint, screw'em in and they are rock solid. Not able to post pictures at this time but will soon.
