Please remember to post your results. Thus far no Walleye catches have been reported.

as many as the walleye that was put in there you would have thought that one would have been caught on the first couple of days. maybe the bass ate them all.

The walleye on our local lakes are 30-35 ft deep. Being caught on slabs or small jigs tipped with minnows, worms, or leeches. A few trolling deep diving cranks. Off deep points or edge of creek channels.
Still not many being caught till cools off some.

Went out there today
Caught @30-35 fish. Only 3-4 of them were under 14". But nothing over 2 1/2 to 3 lbs. Really expected to see a little more size differences
We did manage two smallmouth
I don't know what's up but these fish act like they are scared of soft plastics. Everything but one fish came in moving baits. Spinnerbaits and squarebills
On a side note. For it being the third day it has ever been open. I did manage to find two new crankbaits in the same bush. A nice Soddy blue DD22. And a chartruese sexy shad DD14

I think the reason no one caught a Walleye is the method of fishing. The Walleye would have been deep on structure. A slowly trolled or drifted live bait might have caught them. The bass fishing lures and methods would not have been effective. Maybe one of our Northern transplant friends can give us all a lesson.

When Squaw first opened,if i remember correctly, its been awhile....most of the walleyes came on live shiners out deeper.Could be the same scenario for here.

I was there yesterday morning and was impressed. Didn't catch any smallmouth or walleye (wasn't fishing for them anyways) but did catch some decent LMB with most of them being in the 2 1/2 to 3 pound range. All the fish caught were very healthy and had beautiful color. Clearest water I've seen in a Texas lake. The rules and regulations seem fair enough as one can cover the lake pretty easily on trolling motor only. (Only because there was no wind yesterday morning). I would like to see maybe an "idle speed only" rule imposed for such cases as it being windy out or you run out of trolling motor power on the opposite of the lake from the ramp. Overall though, thumbs up!

The labor day weekend is over, and not one person reported a walleye. Surely someone caught one even if by accident.

went out today and we caught 35 bass with the biggest one at 5 pounds even,no smallies or walleyes. We even tried minnows in 40 feet of water. and no doubt about it, Squaw Creek for sure, nothing like loading the boat full of bass when the temp is 20 degrees.

What is this 20 degrees you speak of and when does it happen? So what you get to load the boat up at squaw maybe a couple of times a year? doesnt get down to 20 a whole lot in Texas went out today and we caught 35 bass with the biggest one at 5 pounds even,no smallies or walleyes. We even tried minnows in 40 feet of water. and no doubt about it, Squaw Creek for sure, nothing like loading the boat full of bass when the temp is 20 degrees.
