there have been a lot of threads lately about guys moving in on someone, or cutting someone off. I believe its all about being polite. i dont want to play devil's advocate but lets face it, a lot of anglers have only a couple of weekends to practice (or days before the event), they are 4 hours away from the house, and you just gotta do what you gotta do with your time on the water. and if you're dedicating your day to a particualar section of the lake or creek.. for example if someone needs to spend practice time on the dam early one morning and they aren't the first one's there, i beleive they have every right to squeeze in and find a place to practice, but it seems like a lot of TFFers expect that person to just leave and come back later or, and this is a good one, "go find their own fish someone is already fishing that spot". that is nonsense... I believe if you are courtious, make sure the other angler isn't fishing a tournament (let em have the spot if they are), dont binocular eye the other boat, and just go about practicing how you practice; then there is nothing wrong with moving in behind someone or 100 yards ahead of them, same strecth of docks, or rip rap, island/hump/pilings, ect. what do ya'll think Fine, bring it on,and I'll scream you out.You have no "right",to somehow, think you're more important than the guy who got there ahead of you.

Tournament angler or not... I don't give a rats ace... You do not have the right to encroach on someone who is fishing an area. My time is just as important to me on the water as anyone elses and for someone to think they owed something out there is absurd.
There are multiple tournaments every freakin weekend, big and small, and people always pre-fishing... So according to Blufleks reasoning... I'd have to jump around from spot to spot all the time because a tournament guy wanted to fish the area I am in so I gotta let em have that area??
Part of being a great fisherman is adaption and ability to catch fish in all conditions. Part of being a respectable human being is being curtious and respectful of others

Just ASK the prson if you can fish the same area. If they are fun fishing then they will usaly let you. If they are in a tournament move on and find YOUR OWN WATER

Agsellers. if i didnt properly protect the water i wanted to fish and another guy moved in on it, tournament or not, thats my fault. i dont see it as "oh that a-hole moved in front of me". when did everyone become nancy's? if fishing is a sport, which was clealy identified on here last week, then you need to get dirty, figh for the stretch of water you want to fish. there is no reason to say 'oh, well' $1,000 bucks down the drain. he's in my area i cant go there' FAIL!.... Well, Brian, we identified another one of the "few" that are out there...

To quote Strother Martin from Cool Hand Luke, "What we have here is a failure to communicate" IBTL. Strother Martin is my MAN!! (rest his soul) Did you see him in THE WILD BUNCH?? Strother unloads two barrels of double-ought into an unsuspecting rancher from about 15 steps. The guy is "ventilated" and Strother walks up and asks his partners......"Did I GIT 'EM???

Why would you even ask him if he is in a toury.that dont even matter he might be fishing for anything its still the same.Your want toos dont override somebody else just because you in a toury. ok obviously you are not a tournament angler and you have no idea what you are arguing against here. If im in a tournament i will ask a guy if i can go ahead NOT A TOURNAMENT GUY ON HERE WHO WOULDNT. If i am practicing in a crowded area and a guy pulls up on me I'll say "are you in a tournament" if they are ill leave or go around him, if he not im not going to leave or go around Look,Hoss. Forget what your, soon to be,X wife, once told you. You are not Special!! BTW,most tournament anglers are courteous to other anglers.
