Swim Jigs, Foot Ball head Jigs and punching Grass next to creek channels with more than 5' of water under the grass.

Thanks for the support guys! Ranger Boats and Wade Middleton put on a first class event for us and it feels great for my partner and I to come out on top. It should make an awesome TV show and will air on the Versus Network on Americana Outdoors the 3rd week of January and also on the Boat US Collegiate Bass Fishing Series Tv Show at some point in the future.

The event was backed by Ranger Boats and in it's first year of what will be many. Choke Canyon Lodge put us up all week and really went out of the way to make the trip great for the whole staff and we really put the two teams to the test this week by assigning areas for them to fish and only allowing them a few hours at time to put together a pattern.
The first session was held in Four Fingers with both teams managing a limit in 4 hours of fishing with Univ of Arkansas winning that one by .20 ounces. Top waters played a big role in the win for the Arkansas team in this session.
In session which was started near South Shore area saw UT Tyler put together a quick limit early and had them culling all morning long and while Arkansas did get a limit they could not match the early success thus forcing a 2 hour fish off where we allowed the teams to fish anywhere they desired. UT Tyler caught them on a mix of baits but really seemed to dial in on the grass flipping bite as the sun came up.
During the fish off UT Tyler got really dialed in on a grass flipping bite and was able to put together a 13 pound plus limit to win the Ranger Cup University title after Univ of Arkansas frog bite died off as the sun got higher.
Both teams were very impressive on and off the water and the footage will really make for some great television this coming January.

Wade thanks for all you did, the boys were very impressed with you and your staff. Definitely a memory theyll never forget. Collegiate fishing will have a very positive impact on bass fishing in the future. With the love of fishing in kids it will pull them to college and motivate them to finish their education! Job well done.
