Best brisket I've ever had was at Black's in Lockhart. Best sausage was at City Market in Giddings. Like Trapperben, I can't seem to get to Mt. Zion in Huntsville when there are cooking. Good BBQ is worth the effort. I just have to keep trying.

Mike Andersons over by Parkland is solid.
Branding Iron in Wichita Falls is good.
Snows has the best brisket I've ever had.

I just moved here to Lockhart on Friday.. I've only tried Black's so far, but it was really good.. Once I try all of the BBQ places here I will report back and let you know what I think.. Talking to the locals, most people like Kreutz..
After reading the entire thread.. Some people are saying Salt-Lick in Round Rock.. We stopped in there one day because we had seen it on the travel channel, we were very disappointed.. Meat was dry, and the sides weren't nothing to write home about.. I wondered how it got on TV, must have been some kind of pay-off..
