I used to make fun of Swider for fishing a range cube that was about 6 inches long (exaggerating). I always thought it would have to break down some before it would catch. But he proved me wrong time and time again so I became a believer. Also I saw Fishlady feed big arse cubes to that common in the tank and he'd chow on it for a while, crushing and sucking on it for a few minutes before coming back for another one.

I'm under the impression that the range cube rig will only catch you bigger fish - that is, smaller fish have a hard time fitting the whole thing in their mouth. I use on average probably a 3" cube. What does everyone else think?

PB Buff - 56lbs
PB Common - 26lbs
PB Mirror - 7lbs
PB Grasser - 45lbs
PB Koi - 10lbs

I used to think so. But I have caught plenty of small fish on big cubes. Then turn it long ways and suck on it. I've watched in awe at Cabelas. Of course you have to define small fish, a 3lb carp prob won't take a 3inch cube but a 12lb fish has no issues.
