after the G2G myself and my buddy Jake left for Tyler TX to camp at the Tyler State Park. My friend CJ lives in Shreveport and just purchased a 36ft travel trailer. He wanted to test it out so we met up halfway in between Dallas and Shreveport at the Tyler State Park. I always wanted to fish that lake anyway. We got there in the evening and planned on fishing that night but instead we enjoyed the Air Conditioning and watched the 42" TV while drinking Jim Beam. We cooked some dirty rice with Italian sausage chopped up in it and some filet mignon on the grill. We were really roughing it! Dirty Rice Steaks Got up at around 6:15 and went out to the boat ramp at about 7ish. the boat ramp area was really shallow and had lots of vegetation As promised by others the water was really clear and looked great. to be continued......

Pictures of the lake.... It stayed cloudy until 11am. We couldnt have asked for a better day weather wise. Jake ended up catching a bunch of LMB. I only got one picture of him. I had a pretty good day. I caught a few. We spent a bunch of time just snorkeling around too. My biggest one was 20 1/4 inches and my guess would be 5lbs. I also caught a few smaller fish. Cj happened to be paddling close by when I caught this one. another decent one.

the lure of the day was this rapala shad looking thing. I was fishing it about 8-10 feet deep. it was a really nice lake and its full of bass. Plus when you get hot you paddle over to the swimming beach area and go snorkeling. The beach area has sandy bottom and they even have a swim platform. I enjoyed the park and the fishing was awesome. I love trying new places to fish and doing well at them.

Nice bass Dave. That water is way down since I was there. Did you chase any bass while snorkeling?

When I was out there a few weeks ago caught 5 in about 2 hours. Small cranks and dropping plastics into the hydrilla pockets.
