Went to Louisiana, last week, and visited Uptown Anglers. Saw this crazy pattern, but didn't think anything about it. Went fishing a few days later (Port Sulphur) with guide Rich Waldner, inventor of the Terminator Crab. Drum and Redfish loved this crazy pattern. Rich is a great fellow, guide, and fly tyer. Will definitely fish LA again.

No, I don't, but with the exception of the tail, it is a really stiff fly. It's tied on a 1/0 hook, I believe. All very flashy, and the tips on the end of the chartreuse part are painted gold flecked. It is a fabulous fly!
Contact Uptown Anglers out of New Orleans, and Jennifer sells them in her shop. I saw them there, first, and couldn't believe the guy I was fishing with on Friday tied the fly and was tying one on to the end of my line. Water was murky, and saw the Drum only briefly, but cast to it about five times, and it took it.

Wow. That's SUCH a Louisiana pattern. I think it'd work great in Galveston... not so sure about here, at least when the water is clean.

@ Derek Noah Vale did a good job with his fly. Regarding what he tied and seeing what I used, I would thin the tail some and use a flashier material, (Chuck'n'duck is right, it is a New Orleans Mardi-Gras-esque pattern all the way). Regarding the "crosshairs" do only three so that there is a definitive gap between each set, and those things are stiff. The body on Rich's and Noah's seems to be the biggest difference. Noah used a glitter paint to get his effect, while I believe Rich uses a flashy flat braid material and no paint. The only paint Rich's pattern had was gold sparkle paint at the tip ends of each crosshair. The other thing that Rich talked about was a purple and red pattern as well as the chartreuse and red. Rich's spoon flies were in those two color schemes, as well. I'll scrounge around in my stuff; I am almost 100% certain, Rich gave me the fly used to catch the Drum and Redfish. If I have it, I'll get Cody to take a good, macro picture. C'N'D is also right about the water. That Louisiana water is very, very murky compared to the Texas coast, so it might be too much fly in clear waters, but you never know until you try. @Kelkay, thank you very much!

Yup, saw those on the counter at Uptown Angler in NOLa last weekend. Apparently real killers. I think the same guy who ties those 10-dollar spoons ties these.
