I fish LBJ at night quite often, almost every time I'm out, someone goes by on a jet ski or in a boat without lights. One night, I counted four people running like this. I called Llano County GW and NEVER GOT A CALL BACK.

Two different mishaps have been conflated here. The one involving the young lady occurred back in July. The fatality which took place last Thursday, which seems to relate to the original poster's comment, involved a professional racer (male) and happened before dark. The news item linked to is dated July 19.

Bottom line, it sounds like one less idiot and no one else hurt. If accident happened as described in first post, so be it.

I live in Marble Falls and just read about the latest accident. Not much to go on except that it is still under investigation. The first on happened on the Colarado arm of LBJ. They were running the boat at night and got turned around. They thought they were running down toward the main lake and instead were headed toward Inks Dam. Tragic either way.

Guy was 35, they say. There was a big speed boat competition on LBJ the weekend of August 12-14, during which the winner hit a speed of 258 mph. is that possible? 258 mph? prayers sent to the family of the deceased. no matter how much lack of common sense, i feel for the loved ones left behind.

They got one up to 200+ mph in 1937. Some Aussie hit 315 mph in the 70's. No idea what the current record is. Probably the guy who blew past me on Canyon the other day.

No mention of alcohol in paper today. Just going off eye witness. It is really sad being a paraplegic and not wearing pfd's. Feel for the family.
