In Texas, we use all sorts of slang terminology. i.e. maters (tomatoe), taters (potatoe), nanners (bananna), warsh and ranch (wash and rinse), mammy dogs/jips (female dogs) , brammer (brahma cattle), jugheads/mudcat/something else I won't put on here without making the WOS (Bullhead catfish), Walmarts/Wally World (Walmart), perch (anything, that in anyway form or fashion, resembles a bream, however, usually only refered to as perch when they are smaller than eating size. Then again in some parts if it is big enough to bite, it is big enough to eat, ain't nothin going back)
Hope this helps some. I could go on and on.
Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

Where's the popcorn! Another fun to read thread.
I think the reason why I call a "Bluegill" a "Perch" is because that's my Daddy always called them.

Really. Ya'll didn't call Redears Chinqaupins, Sinkey? That's what they called em in N. Lousiana near the Arkansas border.

Why do Yanks try to change things when they move down here? Texas is OUR country, if you're going to live here; learn the language!
