Title for a bass buster is the same rules as for any boat that will use any motor, electric or gas.
If you plan to use it on anything but a private lake or pond you require a title.
My advice, if they dont have a signed title, it will cost more than the boat is worth to get a bonded title. I think any boat that is 1990 or above requires a signed title.
In my book, boats or gas powered outboard, I won't buy without a valid title. And if they say you can use a bill of sale, they are wrong, you need a title.
Hope this helps Ron

I talked to the Texas Parks and Wild Life and it's pretty simple to get a title for the boat. I was getting the title for my new bass hunter and told her that I wanted to buy a used one. She gave me all the paper work and highlighted what the seller had to sign.
If I was you I would run up there and get the paper work before you go to buy the boat and then take them with you went you go. They can sign it when you pay them for the boat.
You will need.
Affidavit of Fact (pwd 314)
Vessel/boat application (pwd 143)

I spent a $100+ on my tags but it was new and I had to pay sales tax on the boat and the shipping.
If that boat is five years old (and the seller says that) you don't have to pay some fee, I forget which one. So if you are going to buy one make sure the seller says the boat is 10 years old and you will be fine.

I bought a used buster and had to provide the same paperwork as when I bought my used tracker bass boat, which included a signed title, with the boat serial number on it. Didn't buy a new one, but I figure you stll need the MSO and the receipt from the store you bought it from. Call TPWD and they will tell you exactly what you need. If the boat was ever titled, then no doubt you will need a signed title. All forms ae also avaiable onlie. You can also check online to see if the boat has ever been registered. PM me with the boat ID Number and I can check online if the boat has ever been registered in Texas.

I made a mistake with the anchors, I wasn't smart enough to use FLOATING ROPE when I rigged them.
That's important when you are on the water.

Today was the first day I darn near ran the battery dead.
Well I did "help" the trollin' motor by using a oar on the final trip across the lake.
9.3 volts unused at the home dock

Check his other post under his long running "Denton ponds...big bass" thread. He mentioned he was out at an undisclosed private lake. Go figure ha ha.
On that note with the battery... I have nearly ran mine dead a few times too. I need to stay off the "5" speed. That runs them down so much faster than being on 3 or 4.
Always carry an oar. Unless you like swimming pulling a buster. NOT fun.

To be fair I did fish for 5 hours and ran across that lake several times with long periods of time that I had to hold myself in wind over that creek channel.

Yes, buy a used one if you can. You can save about half the cost of one. I have had a bass hunter for most of 20 years and they are excellent pond boats. I would buy one of them before I would buy any of the others.
They are rated for 2 people or 600 lbs. You can't sink one so if they can fit then you can take them.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
