Big ol' hunk of a dark colored spinnerbait with single Colorado thumper on it.

If the fish are finicky and you can find a light shining on the water you can get bit with a dark wacky rig either at submerged lights or low hangovers. I also like a dark chatterbait fished slow and steady.

First night trip of the year I left all my of my night gear at the house and I'm glad I did. I've had some of the best night trips of my life this year throwing a white chatterbait. I always have fished dark colors and never would have fished a white chatterbait if I hadn't forgot my gear.

I tried a place last night and did not do well with worms or brush hogs. Caught 3 nice bass on jitterbugs fished slowed and steady. What I did not understood was that the bass were striking at the lure but missing by up to a foot sometimes, it was weird.

i fish with a zoom g tail worm with a red glass bead and 1/4 oz. tungsten or brass weight alot at night and catch quite a few nice fish around stumps and laydowns. but when the moon is out, a black jitterbug is hard to beat. ive had problems with fish short striking also, and i take a piece of heavy mono or fluorocarbon about 30 lb. test and tie a sharp treble hook to the back of the rear hook. i usually use about a 6 to 8 inch piece. its a pain in the rear to fish if ure over grass, but if ure in fairly open water, it has helped my hook up ratio. hope this works for u!
