Here is a testimonial that I just got yesterday... from Derek Salinas. "PB 26in trout working active bait and grass pockets. The TroutSupport.com DVD really showed how to READ active bait. Very easy to grasp. Just before that big girl, we hooked onto 15+ trout. The DVD really helped me understand how to locate fish and weed out unproductive waters." -Derek Salinas. I talked to derek yesterday and he said he actually caught the big trout on a gold spoon.. he switch over trying to catch a red and bam the she. pretty cool, those things still work when in fish. Spoon have been responsible for a lot of fish over the years.

I love the way fish, both freshwater and saltwater, hit spoons...
Kinda like a crappie on a jig... They hit 'em harder than normal...

Back in 1997 a friend of mine, who was a Landman checking the wells in Nueces Bay for active production, took his fishin' pole with him and caught 2 30" trout with a Gold Spoon by a gas wells shell pad.

I remember an article about 10 years ago talking about using big 1/2 and 3/4 oz spoons for trout and slow rolling them along the bottom... it can work, and they will knock the fire out of it...
Someone should have a spoons only tourney...

Also, with the salinity levels in most bays a lot of fish have been able to spread out up rivers if there is enough depth... a lot of juvinille bait like brackish water to moderate salinities... the fish follow... but only if there is enough depth... at least 6-7 feet and preferably 8 to 20 feet...

Man o' man Troutsupport we need to go fishing together one day.
You are spot on with that advice. That is one of the reasons that trout action in Copano Bay really heats up in the summer and fall.
In the DVD that's one of the things I talk about, ... the fish are going "straight to the bait".

No need to bring cam... hell probably between the 3 of us we probably have like 9 cameras.. LOL
I just acquired a little go pro and made a shoulder mount for it.... we'll be testing this winter for trophy trout... try and catch some tail walking action.
