I caught this bowfin on Fork-May of been spawning-The tail is purdy red? I thought the NEON green fins/Spot on the tail are cool and it REALLY put up a killer fight for it's size!

thats normal fin color for bowfins, I've never heard when they spawn, but that is most likely the right time. And +1 to the killer fight, I'm caught 4 and 5 lb fins that fought like giant bass

I had one destroy a spinnerbait on Fork. I had it follow my bait out from a dock and kept seeing him swimming around. Finally got him to hit it and he just about 4 ft in the air and came off. I had to throw my Strike King spinner bait in the trash it was so mangled.

Those things are Mean! Caught a bunch of them thru the years at Fork, Sandlin, and Monty.

XXX2 They have jaw strength that is unbelievable til you catch one. I've had to throw away many a bait after tangling with 'em. When you see them jump it's almost a given what they are.

Caught some on Hubbard while fishing for LM this spring. Reminds me of a Northern Pike.

Pretty fun fish and they look awesome. Never eaten one though.

Don't worry about the mule, just load the cart
