Go with alum v-hull. You have a variety of different water around Austin. You will want something that can ride in the big lakes (Travis) and something that can handle the more structure having lakes (granger, choke) and still has a shallow enough draft to fish the river lakes (Dunlop, placid)
The Tracker Targa is a decent boat that is affordable. Lund makes an awesome boat. Seaark, Xpress, G3,and others make good boats as well. I would get a 18-22' boat. 24' is getting a little hard to manuver in some situations. 4 stroke would be a must. Quieter, fuel efficient, very low mainenence.

I do not like too much storage. I like just enough to throw life jackets in with paddle and jumper cables. I would rather have the room on the floor of the boat than storage.

Sea Ark has some catfish series boats. The ProCat 240 is 24' long with up to 10 people and the RiverCat CX200 is 20' long with 10 people. both have 80 gallon livewells and lots of storage, and is a CC...both are V-hull. The RiverCat 200 has a rating for 12 people.

After I get some new fuel lines on my boat I plan on selling it. It is a 19 ft. Hurricane deck boat. 125 Mercury, has a canopy a change room with a porta potty in it, live well, built in tackle box, trolling motor, depth finder, a couple of anchors, 2 drift socks, 15 Bee Ready rod holders are on it. it is a 2000 model and I take it out only 1 or 2 times a yr. due to work. Have not had the time to take it out this year yet. very few hrs. on the motor.

Dont forget to check out the Smokercrafts. I have all kinds of built in storage but did not loose any floor room. Great platform for any kind of fishing
