thinking maybe only a morning shift on sat or Friday 7till 2 at latest those fish for some reason (has to be the heat)have only been hitting mornings or nights

lil tumater (my son) has band camp friday.We will be there bright and early saturday, but good luck if you try friday!

actually non utility site #13 is alittle further down by the pumphouse but the sites #6-#10 are close together and near the water,we will probably camping in those sites if they are available.It looked like the last emma fish-in may have been near that area and worked out well.We are o.k. with sharing a site if the park allows it.

Thanks Big Ted(aka birthday boy)Happy birthday! It was your pics from your last Emma trip that kept us from giving up carp fishing.We didnt even get a turtle bite our first three times carp fishing.We saw pics of those fattys ya,ll caught and I talked my son into trying one more time.I told my son "boy we need to become as TED-like as possable". "BE the TED"We studied the pics for clues and stood as close to the TED spot as we could get to cast our bait.We added a little method to our weights,debated getting tatoos and became little Teds.We caught our first 2 carp ever a 15lb and a 16lb that day!Our carp fishing careers were saved!

It looks like that weather forecast will hold up.These temperatures can be deadly.They lock the gates at Emma Long Park at night making it difficult to leave if you had to.My son and I will most likely just fish the day use area saturday till about 2:00 pm.We are only conditioned for soft living.

Yeah I can handle the heat to a point but the long drive there and back makes the trip very difficult, it is a 3 1/2 hour drive for me to get there which alone is not too bad but after fishing in 105 temps the drive back is hell on wheels lol

I worked as a hot shot delivery driver in houston for 4 years.driving 11 hour days with no a/c in my vehicle and coming home to an apartment with no a/c. One night the heat really got me and I headed for my parents airconditioned house,but had to pull over in the middle of the Katy freeway to barf at 3:00 in the morning.

I won't be making the trip.

Hey Big Ted,my son names all our carp we catch.Our latest pB from Emma last week at17.6lb was named Big Ed.He said it wasnt big enough to deserve the BIG Ted name.lol

Decker Lake (Walter E Long) is an awesome lake! Munn has the official record out there. I caught one that was 50.8 (buffalo) and I know Brid and Bubba caught some big 40's as well. I would not doubt it if someone pulled out a 60 or bigger when it cools down.

Thats correct buffaloman.Any overnite camping fees are not included, just day use entry fees.There is no expiration on it though so as long as city of austin is still in business its good.They didnt punch mine the first time when I bought it so I actually get 21 entries! You write your name on the card and they punch it each time.
