Thanks for trying Willie. Working for the public I have been burned by people saying one thing and doing another. Sometimes that leaves you stuck in the middle without any win/win solutions.

Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?

Good Lord I may end up on the stinking (literally unless improved) Dolphin. Has Dolphin Dock gotten better at catching yellowfin?

Thanks for trying Willie. Working for the public I have been burned by people saying one thing and doing another. Sometimes that leaves you stuck in the middle without any win/win solutions. Comes with the territory, Bryan. The diffrence is T.O.O. is usually able to get these situations into a win/win situation for all involved. Our only focus is keeping those that paid to fish, fishing, and to do everything in our power to make sure those that had reserved spots get what they want to do. Everything else is secondary. Smell is frustrated, we're frustrated, the others are frustrated, but we've been able to get things to the point that we believe we'll be at 13 to 15 confirmed, committed, and paid deposits fishermen. There was a communication mix up and we're hopeful to make things right for everyone. We've got an email basically ready to send to the group with the status of the charter, we just need clarification and solid commitment to happen. We now think we'll have the 13 mentioned committed and paid and possibly 15. We'll update as soon as we know for sure what will happen, but we are encouraged by the way events are turning out. Those asking about the charter, the boat will offer a standard 6/0 Penn reel for tuna chunking and deep drops. Topwater, jigging, and casting for tuna gear is the responsiblity of the fishermen. Bait, iced down catch and terminal tackle is included for chunking and deep drop fishing. We think we'll have a solid number as we've been mentioning for a while, so if you wish to experience a quality 56 hour tuna charter, contact us and join the charter. DBS, join up, man. Short drive, comfortable boat, fishing lightly fished tuna grounds. You'll be home in an hour after hitting the dock. Think about it.

Guys, I KNOW, that Willie and TOO, are trying to make this charter solid and locked in. We have to realize that TOO has a great reputation with the boats and well as with their fishermen. None, of us would want to call the Dock and book a 56hr trip, without the backing of enough people to make it sail. Rest assure that in Sept-Oct, many people will be ready to jump on board. We just need 13-15 now, the rest will be there by due date. First cold front you will have to have crowd control. Give TOO a little time, it should be OK.

If anyone feels some doubt that this trip will fly I would like to suggest that you sign up with Willie for stand-by for our Diez trip a week later.
It's really likely that someone will drop out as the time approaches.

Dear Sir,
Please consider renting for your first trip or Three. I have two set ups I would not have if I would have waited to purchase. They are both quality setups and many people fish with the exact set up, but after some experience I would have preferred something a little different. With that said if spending $1500 to infinity for three setups is no big deal to you then buy some stuff because it is easy to replace it later if you like.
I don't know if fishermans wharf rents or not. Willie from TOO might be able to help locate some stuff when he checks this thread again he may chime in or contact you. If think about it tomorrow I am going to call fishermans wharf and check on rental stuff because my dad and I may need an additional jigging set up. I will post up.
A guy that goes by jig often answers these type questions and gives good advice on what is needed and he keeps up with tackle and can direct you to some gear that is the best bang for the buck.
Look forward to meeting you
Bryan

Bryan,
Thanks for the advise I will consider renting first all I need is to rent a good set up for popping. I already have two set up for jigging conventional and spinning I might used my conventional set up for chunking. This is the first time I'm gonna use this gears.

Post up exactly what gear you have (specifics) and I will give you my two cents. Also state what experience you have with offshore in general, overnight trips, and tuna fishing specifically. Then I and others can give you some advice to consider.
