Cant wait to use this thing to chase around hybrids and stripers.
Is ipilot gonna be as game-changing as I think it will be?

It is a big help, the spot lock and auto-pilot feature are great. You will enjoy being able to move around in the boat and still hold on the fish.

...Is ipilot gonna be as game-changing as I think it will be? For me, yes it was and is....no more anchor to hassel with, can very rapidly relocate to follow the fish, hands free operation, silent movement, and on and on. Prediction: you will love it!!

It is by far the best thing I have ever put on my boat. I'd give up side imaging before I would get rid of it. There's nothing like trolling around a hump, seeing fish and spot locking right on top of them. Now if they would just make a self-deployment button, u may never have to get outta your seat

After reading your comments I am even more excited (if that was possible).
The spot lock is what I am looking forward to the most. How concerned should I be with running down the batteries with too much spot locking? 22 ft boat w/ 36v 101 thrust terrova.

U won't believe how efficient these things are. I have went 3 days without noticing any performance issues. Most of the time with spot-lock, the motor is running on less than 30% power. I'm running the 80# on a 21ft Baystealth.

Man I've got to get one of these!! This is why I'm still using my old 1986 Johnson trolling motor. It'll be easy to justify needing a new trolling motor. I think tomorrow at the lake I'll run the old Johnson tm into all the rocks at the dam and then show the wife and shrug my shoulders and explain how it's just time for an ipilot.

Great units overall. Super on battery life and the spot lock will blow you away. First trip out my wife got over the 'why did you have to buy this questions....' Will never go back. terry

+1,000,000 on what everyone is saying. Best piece of equipment in my boat, bar none! I can keep on a small hump with 15mph winds, no problem. My catch count has risen 10 fold!
Best thing: After breaking off or changing lures, you don't look up and have drifted 100 yards (or more) off your spot! Just drop the new slab down and BAM, fish on!
Also, the foot control on the Terrova is excellent when crappie fishing.

+1 on Pittstate's comment, since I usually have kids in the boat and am constantly retying or using pliers on caught fish - my time to actually get to cast and catch something occasionally has gone way up. Its really nice to be in center of the boat looking at big graph and controlling TM with remote and then hitting the spot lock and you are there. Great piece of equipment

You guts are really getting me excited too, ordered mine yesterday too. Will be replacing the Riptide on my Skeeter 22 bay and can't wait to use the spot lock on PK. We fish the lights alot at night and hope it works well for holding on a dock in the dark as well as humps during the day.
