Think this video clearly illustrates that KVD has a lot more class than Skeet Reese. He clearly stated that he wanted to win. Never mentioned anything about have a goal of beating any one individual.

As far as the sixth fish goes. Skeet was simply following the rules established by BASS. When is following the rules a cause for all types of accolades? To me following the rules is expected. Accolades are reserved for someone who goes above and beyond what is required.

Skeet Reese is a very emotional and competitive guy. But so are a lot of the other guys on the pro circuit. To me being a professional not only means you are good at fishing, it also means you are professional in your comments and actions.

Skeet comes up short in my opinion.

As you can see by my post count in the past several years, I don't post here very often...but I lurk alot. I spent a couple of days in the boat with KVD early in his career on the St. Lawrence in upstate NY back in 1992 and I've spent several days on the water with Rick Clunn before too. I feel obliged to weigh in here. First off, right after KVD began his career in 1992, Rick Clunn told me personally that in his opinion, KVD would eventually own ALL the B.A.S.S. records. That was almost 20 years ago. I know 1st hand that Rick respects KVD. Rick is not as weird as alot of you think. I have known him over 25 years and I am proud to call him a friend. He has always been VERY friendly to me. Is he perfect...no but he is more intelligent that most give him credit and not as weird as you think. Rick was a computer programmer before alot of you were born. Those people think on a different level. Most highly intelligent folks have a hard time communicating with ignorant people.

I also spent some time around Skeet when he was here at Eagle Mtn. a few years ago at the BASSFan "Top Gun" tourney. Not to dis him, but I heard him dis, the event, sponsors, the weather, the lake, the fishing etc. etc. That is his right.

IMO, it boils down to class. Maybe Skeet is trying to exorcise his "demon". I don't know, don't care. I spent many years around the pro's in the fishing industry and they are the most competitive people I ever knew. It is about winning. period.

I agree with fouz and think that maybe Skeet should have phrased his words differently. Who knows. I ain't dissing Skeet because while he was here at Eagle Mtn. the man was great to the kids around him and I respect him for that. Sometimes, the only time people open their mouth is to "change feet".

On another note...Hey Ken A...How you doin' man? Long time no see. Maybe I'll get down to Fork and we'll go fishin'.....as long as you keep it under 75 mph!

I don't understand the 6th fish being intentional comment. If you watched the footage of him on Wheeler, he (along with everyone else) would get in to flurries of fish catches which would last for a few minutes. Leaving the window open for that kind of error more so than in other situations. There was also footage of him bagging his catch and talking to reporters, it was almost like he never looked in to his livewell, but instead just grabbed 5 cull clips while he was talking to them and dumped them in his bag.... I understand how one could have a problem with what he said about beating VanDam, but saying that the 6 fish deal was non accidental is ridiculous..
