I got LaCrosse nail clippers at Walmart. They work a lot better than some of the cheaper ones. I have to squeeze down on them and jerk at the same time and the line usually separates cleanly.

I have found that any tools made by Rapala actually work well. I use these right now and they work great. I don't even have to hold the line tight to cut braid.

I use a pair I got at Home Depot. They are full size scissors with orange handles. Fiskars 9 1/2" Titanium Nitrade shop shears.
Been using the same pair for 5 yrs., works good.

I bought a pair at Wallymart in the sewing dept., about 3" blades and orange finger holes. Think they are Fiskers and about 5.00, work fine.

+1 to the Gerbers, they're CHEAP and work great. I fish three to four times a week all year and like to re-tie often on the water. I have one that's a year old and it still cuts braid like butter. Trick with braid is to pull a little tension on the line while you cut it or nip it right on top of the knot.

Great reading here.
IME, clippers suck on braided and I've been looking for something new to try.
I like cheap. THink I'll try Walmart Fiskers, first.
thanks!

The little scissors on my Swiss Army Knife actually work really well for braid.

I bought a couple from Bass Pro Shops and they work great.
They are cheap enough that I have a couple in the boat and a pair in the garage where I work on baits.

I bought a pair of Rapala braid scissors for myself, loved them so much bought my Son and Son-in-Law a pair and we all agree they are the best braid scissors we have ever tried. They are small enough to fit in pocket of any fishing shirt and are easy to use with a very clean cut on all braided lines.

Check that 90 5.0 Yea, in a clich you gnaw braid with your teeth but I'm with the guy that asked the question. Leatherman has a great micro multi tool with the scissors as the main item rather than the pliers.

Thanks guys for all the responses. I guess I'm looking for something that doesn't fray the ends of the line. Trying to thread a jig or worm weight with frayed line is a pain. I like the looks of those snips...may have to try them.
