I need some advice.

I dropped a Revo SX off for repair of the anti-reverse at a repair shop 4 months ago. They say they are still waiting for the parts to come in. Is this a typcial wait time on Abu parts? Plus, they can't give me an estimate on arrival time.

That seems like a long time to wait for any sort of part to me. If I were to go pick up my reel to take my business elsewhere, who would have the quickest turnaround? Or do you think they are being truthful about these parts taking that long, and should I just leave it and wait?

You can call Abu Garcia's customer service and see if they have one available, and/or they may tell you how long the part is backordered for.

That is a common part that has a LONG wait time in the Revo lineup.

Typical for Abu Garcia/Pure Fishing.
On a ratchet and clutch pawl I had to wait 6 months due to the parts kept getting backordered.
If the reels still under warranty it is quicker to send it back to Purefishing. They usually will just swap it out for another reel.

Sorry to say the Korean Reel parts are hard to come by. It is a commonly bad problem with Pflueger and Garcia on these reels. They buy them in bulk and don't really buy parts I don't think from the manufacturer in Korea. I waited from November to March recently for the same part mentioned above and only after raising total He double hockey sticks did I get one off a used reel from them

This is an ongoing problem from these companies that farm out the reels. The Lews will be the same if not worse.

I have been waiting on some for over 3 months.
This has been one of my worst years for getting parts.

Thank you,

I've been trying to get parts for one of my Shimano reels for a month, and both real tackle shops haven't had them in months.

stdreb27, just what are you looking for and Ratmo, I am stocking up slowly but surely. That a Boca Bearing you looking for? Or if that is the roller bearing, Does it have a blue plastic insert in the Roller Bearings? If so I do have it.

I appreciate all of the input. Tim at Southwestern got me all fixed up. The reel was not left there at first, but he let me know they had the part. I picked up from the other place (no need to mention where) and took it to him. A big thank you to Tim and Southwestern for great service once again!
