I found out the pond has lost some water in it and when he pulled it in, there was a lot of bank mud. He reached down to lip it and it flopped spraying him with mud. You got to sometimes get dirty!!

What a great fish. I live in the neighborhood as well. I was pretty happy with my five pounder on my fly rod out of there, now I have bass envy. Got a nice one tonight but nothing like that. You're dead on about the water levels, I came home tonight with that black sludge all over me, my wife was thrilled.
Big congratulations to your son, that is awesome.

You should try town lake full of good size fish if you have a kayak you can get to some good spots pm me and I can share some spots with you
