I have about 400 hors in building this and now I'm starting to get inpatient since it is getting close to completion. Probably another 25-30 hours and she will be ready to fish, hunt and camp.

I'm at a loss for words. That has to be the most beautiful wood Yak I've seen yet. Awesome job. I really like the light colored wood.

The only thing they take alot of is time. They are really pretty easy to build and I'll have less than $400 in it, but they do take a long time to finish.

A+! Where do you recommend starting to learn how to build a boat like that?

Assuming I could build something that GORGEOUS, I wouldn't want to use it for fear of scratching it...or worse.

I bow in your presence. flehan

The boat plans were drawn by jemwatercraft.com and Matt has a great builders forum there with a lot of guys who are always willing to help.

BTW the specs on her are: 17'6" and 28" wide. She will weigh about 55 pounds when finished.

Seriously? My plastic boat is 12' and weighs like 60 lbs. Thanks for the link, I'm going to look into it.

I am serious and they are not fragile at all. This is the kind of stuff we paddle.

Some of my other builds.
