Hey guys... I have been in hibernation for quite some time now.. The apartment complex I was in this year did not allow me to park my boat and so I have not had it in town in quite some time. I have only been fishing probably 10 times or so since December... I am moving in 1 week to a new place where I can have my boat, so I am hoping to get back on the water soon and will therefore be on here again alot more for advice... Alot has happened since the last time I talked to any of yall. How has everybody been???

Only fishing I have done around here lately is alligator gar fishing... caught a pretty good one around 60 pounds.

Been having some good days at Gibbons recently, and a spot in Kurten with a few nice cats and big gar!

Slip cork rig... very large slip cork with a very large treble hook (I forget which size) on a steel leader about 12" but longer is better... I used cut tilapia that I purchased from the Mexican market but I have used bluegill in the past and they will catch the smaller ones.

WW,

Where did you catch the Gator Gar? Navasota, Brazos, or Trinity, or elsewhere? I've caught a few good ones on the Trinity- 40 & 45 pounders, about 5' plus in length.

If you fish for Gator Gars, you might want to key in on YC (YellowCat) days/nights on my Catfish Calendar. The Gator Gars run just ahead of the Yellows a few hours when they switch on to their "roam/feed" circuit.

One Gator Gar fishermen out near Big Bend area is now using it, as he compared it to his notes. And the times he caught them, was "spot on" according to YC days of my calendar. He used the calendar to key in on Mother's Day & his wife caught a nice one that day- 5'7".

Be posting July in a day or so on the TFF at <http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/6032595/1>. I post the RTF version, but it gets distorted.

To get the Quarterly RTF version, I have a free email group called the Catfish Calendar Crew. I send it out via BCC to cloak everyone's E-dress so they can remain anonymous. Email me at <hlynnh@peoplepc.com> to get on it.

And if you want the printed full size version that has much more (& you can map out thru the full year) plus access to handy pocket "mini-cals", email me for details.

Oh, I forgot, if you are here in B-CS, I am on the outskirts of Bryan, just off TX 21 between the 2 Cedar Creek bridges & Navasota River 3 bridges. The 2nd bridge is only 1.5 miles nearby. Hope to do a little there this summer. Trying to find a good YellowCat area downriver. I know the spots upriver, but always researching.
