Did you tell them you snapped it because you closed your car door on it? There is no way that a rod could withstand a car door closing on it, do you realize that it would of positioned the point in the rod closed in the door in a Z position? It would of snapped as soon as the door was closed, unless you are fishing with a rubber band. I've broken several rods, probably 5-6, and only one of them was manufacture defect and that was a Carrot Stix wild. Between the first 2 eyelets the rod snapped on a hookset, and the 2nd eyelet came off of the rod blank.

Also, the rod didn't break when i closed it in the door, if it had done that, there is no way i would have taken it back, it broke when i caught a fish, which granted was probably because of the door, but i don't know that 100%.

Also, I told the guy at the customer service desk that it was more than likely operator error, and they still accepted the exchange no questions asked.

Just one more reason why i like Academy, great customer service.
