I like to fish verry skinny water! I am looking to find a boat that will run in a foot of water or shallower, shallower is better. I also would like a boat that has the new teck. to where even if something was to happen it is not going to completly sink. pefer a center concole boat ranging from 19ft to 22ft. also I would like it to have a motified v in the front to cut waves verses a flat noise. any info will help. thanks

Shallowsport Modified V, A friend of mine is selling his.

I've fished from it many times and it will amaze you just how skinny such a big boat can go. Rough bays aren't an issue, it's really a great all around boat.

It's not how shallow you can run, it's how shallow can you get up in. When you stick a v on the front, you will compromise your at rest draft. So "as shallow as possible" will change.

Nothing runs shallower than an air boat, then a jet, then a tunnel. And the claims from the cat guys is B.S. I've seen too many of them stuck in the same water a tunnel goes to believe that hype.

And...when you're listening to some blowed up sales guy talk about shallow water running, just remember the basic dynamics in action, you can't get a prop up in less than the depth of the prop. Which if you measure on a V-6 outboard will be about a foot at best. This of course is on a hard bottom, soft poot mud is a different deal.

Pat you definately have a point in the difference in running in shallow water(how most boats are advertised) and being able to start and stop in shallow water....it would be a long walk/pole to get a boat across some shallow flats to where it can take off again after stopping

El Pescadors are built in Victoria, and Majeks in Corpus Christi.

Here's the test....

Take your sled out to shin deep water with a hard sand bottom, and get up and out. There's a few that'll do it, dang few.

A very good friend of mine has a Majek 21' Redfish Line and that boat will run on spit. It is very rough and wet but is the shallowest running boat on the coast. Also a new option from Yamaha is to get the TRP on their 150 four stroke, a good option with gas prices these days.
