Yes, nightcrawlers are pretty much a no-brainer.

I was thinking of maybe buying a bulk package from BPS online.
They come with a few hundred worms.

But how long will they last in my fridge??

I really appreciate that.
I'll PM him and see what he has.

wrap a nightcrawler around some corn. stuff that into a ball of white bread. sprinkle with garlic and tie that inside a chicken liver with some shrimp. dip it in vanilla extract and then shove the whole thing inside a cut shad. NEVER fails.

if you feed the worms cornmeal iv had them in my fridge for 2months.i use the worms to catch perch and use the perch to catch catfish.i usually take my family to catch perch and we catch 100 on a good day then ill put them in the freezer in ziplock bags 25 per bag so if i want to use my rods ill take one bag but if i want to set my drop lines ill grab more this way i always have bait

i know a guy who uses dog poop and from what i heard it works great. I'm way too scared to put it on the hook. Heck i'm to scared to get near that bait. but thats the ultimate stink bait.

Easy carp bait is to take a few slices of fresh light bread or hamburger buns and vanilla extract. Pour on enough vanilla to soften the bread and knead it until it is well mixed and gummy. Roll it into a large ball and put in a plastic bag. Pinch off however much you need to cover your treble hook and ball it up on the hook.

When I used chicken liver I sprinkle it heavy with garlic salt and lay it out on a board in the sunlight to get a "skin" on it.
You may want to turn it over a few times.

I would recommend single hooks rather than treble hooks for carp unless you are planning to keep all you catch. Their soft mouths are easily damaged and trebles damage them more.

their mouths should be fine if you de-barb the hooks
