Where are these fish at, anywhere near me? Still looking for someone to tag along?

Well I got schooled this morning. I got there at sunrise and started tossing the Black Dog Lunker Punker and caught a few fish.
Then I switched over to the Osprey swimbait.
There is this spot that has deep water,a hump and then deep water. I swam that swimbait over it three times, nothing, then on the fourth pass, just as I got pass the hump, WHAM! I darn near had the rod jerked outa my hand. The rod bent over and the fish turned to open water. I wanted to crank but I was afraid to let go of my grip on the rod. Then snap. The fish was gone. So was my brand new swimbait.
I am upset.
A closer look at the knot shows that it cut it self in to with all the pressure. I guess what I did was tightened the knot by pulling on the tag end and not both of them at the same time to cinch up the knot.
I packed it up and came home.
It was 100% my fault.

It was 100% my fault. Darn! Consider using braid? I've got one or two old (~6 years ago) Osprey trout swimbaits...somewhere. I think one is brand spankin new from my southern california fishing days. I've got a new Humminbird down imaging unit on my boat now, it's shown me a few things are in the bottom of that lake of mine

I don't think there was anything wrong with the line I just tied the knot wrong. It was my fault and I knew when I did it I should have cut it off and retied it. That cost me a big fish and a $20 swimbait.
After it happened I reeled in and you could see the little pig tail at the end.
I'm still mad about it.

Is it like the top ones? I'm tempted to try them in my little lake. I still haven't caught anything for size out of it. One solid 3 pounder. Mama has got to be in there somewhere. I have the itch for a biggin as well, it's been awhile!

That pond by Walmart has a few big fish in it and the bottom is snag proof. There is nothing on the bottom.
That other pond I fish has turned colors, it's not clear any longer it's now green. The fish have turned off. I can't catch the numbers I did just two weeks ago.
How low is your lake?

Do ponds down here in Tx turn over early?
I don't think I have seen this until late July or so back in Mo.

All our grass either died out or was cleaned out about three weeks ago. Hardly any grass to mess with at all anymore, where as it was 3' wide around the entire lake before.
I can catch a few fish, but hardly anything for size. Yesterday I went from 7-845pm, I caught 14 or so fish, biggest was 2 pounds...most weren't even a pound. Caught a hybrid, crappie, and bass.
I did find a decent hump or two where it's 18-20ft on the sides and goes up to 12-13ft. Your big bass tactics have me interested in trying to go for a hog in there.

Pretty much every time I go out is dawn or dusk and I throw one. Biggest was on blades, which is what my p.b was on
