No dont debarb your hooks, Try finding a different spot first. Unless youd be happy just seeing all your empty barbless hooks back at the boatramp>

Snburnt i dont think i have the option of choosing a different spot. The pond is very very small. Its a drainage ditch to hold excess rainwater tbh. It has just been stocked with fish i think.

Wherever i cast, is liekly a turtles habitat. Do you feel that strongly negative about barbless hooks? What are the reasons for it?

i always but a little bit if cork at the end of the hook and itl hook up on a cat but usually not a turtle

ive read articles that circle hooks are better as they can be swallowed but may not gut hook the turtle. makes sense if the hooks stay i nthe stomach i think the turtle would live. not sure if they really rust out in fw
