I've had 'em follow me down the bank but they were usually more interested in the stringer than in me.

Got me a pet hawk to keep it PC in the eco on the snake front. Only seen one snake all year on the property Use to relocate the rats to the edge of the property. Bad news for the kiddos as they have nasty mouths and can be on the aggressive side. Not a fan of the lighter tan/brown ones tho. Hognose thread/pics? Now those guys are fun fun fun, esp if you have company.

Have you ever been bite by this harmless rat snake? I've been bitten by one just walking around in my chicken coop. These snakes have been in my hens nests eating all the eggs.
Don't know why some people on this forum get all butt hurt when someone kills a snake. I've been bitten by quite a few non-venomous snakes over the years, mostly because I enjoy catching and handling them. Nothing worse than a few scratches. The reason people get all "butt hurt" is that we value life, and don't see the glory of killing a beneficial animal just because you're afraid of it. It's one of the benefits of being raised by a dad who loved the outdoors and taught me the harmful from the harmless.

Depends on when and were I see them on what I do. Out on the lake they are free and clear. In the back yard they had better move faster than me... Most of them do move off fast enough, something about a guy and a shovel that motivates them.

(Sorry for the accent.....I was trying not to be too Texan) You must not have spent much time outdoors in other U.S. states. There are rattlesnakes in 47 of the lower 48 states.
