These two apparently aren't going to be rooming together on the road, since they had a falling out on the Arkansas River last week. Personally, I feel that DB handled it poorly, his water or not. Just wanted everyone's $.02 worth...

We all stumble and make mistakes. When you stumble, do you want your brother to help knock you down or to help set you back on your feet?

Seniority....

Personally if I was a rookie I would make sure everyone likes me....can't go too far pushing your limits the first year.

Denny is a veteran, he has done it all and put a bunch of hard work in, alot of those older guys are set in their ways so if i was jvd and i knew Denny was getting irritated with me i would just move over more. JVD is a good angler but in the situation he is the rookie.

Here's the complete story. What JVD did is not cool on the Elites, or any other trail for that matter.

However, he's young and was probably trying to show that he's here to stay and won't be intimidated by the verterans.

Personally, I still think it was bad sportsmanship on JVD's part. Further, Denny should have kept his mouth shut, rather than blabbing on stage and to the press. By bass rules, Denny COULD have been DQ'd for that behavior.

Young whipper-snappers, they need to know their place. JVD who?
I suppose I'm dreaming when I say that what he should've said is, OK old man, I'm getting out of your way, but you owe me.

Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

It happens a lot on stage.....I listen and watch a lot of weigh ins.....if someone does wrong they get called out on stage.

When you get to that lvl a little class is not to much to ask. Both could have taken the high road and settled this in private.

They could have taken it to the streets like they did in Vancouver last night!

Might get more TV ratings that way!

+1

I'm a huge fan of DB, but be the role model and symbol of this sport like your suppose to and don't call a guy out on stage. I know you've got more class than that.

I'm fairly new to fishing, so I've got a little different opinion. However, from reading the Iaconelli biography and seeing this situation, I get the feeling that intimidation is used quite a bit in the sport. Its good to see someone sticking up for themselves within the rules. I think DB should have mentioned something in private or just made a mental note about JVD. To me, it just comes across as whining.

There are rules to obey, and all of these guys are fighting for their lives. Its part of the sport.

I dunno, if he wasn't violating any rules about how close you can be to another competitor, I don't see where JVD was in the wrong. Don't fish a spot just because the leader is nearby? That sounds like BS to me.

How about in the classic when 6 guys were fishing within 40 yds of each other?

I think JVD could learn a lot from Brandon P.. He left that spot even though he might have made the cut had he fished it.. He responded by saying I plan on being around awhile & don't want to make it harder on myself.. Now that's classy thumb

Wreck in 08 I died twice but with the grace of GOD & the amazing staff at Parkland Hosp I made it thru... It wasn't my time... Fully disabled & fishing every day...

Sounds like the old school guides and the newer guides on Fork going at each other. "I fished public hump before it was called public!"

haha.

It is just fishing...
