I give up on regular trailer tires years ago and started using passenger car tires which eliminated all problems.

need a 205/75/14, having a hard time locating one that isn't another good year! Had a bad blow out last weekend with a GY Marathon... Tires can't be 2 years old... I am putting the spare tire (tow master) on the normal rim and putting the last GY on the spare rim when I have this blow out replaced... Hard to find a decent tire under 100.00!!! And another GY bites the dust... Next trip out... Just replaced the first tire with a Tow Master from NTB for about 120... Guess I will be buying another! YAY!

I give up on regular trailer tires years ago and started using passenger car tires which eliminated all problems. Exactly the opposite for me. I ran a couple of sets of car radials and had nothing but problems. Since I have gone back to Carlisle bias ply I have never had a blow out. I keep them at 50+ lbs. and believe that is key. Anything less and the outside tread starts to wear.

ALL trailer tires EVERY SINGLE ONE NO MATTER what brand are now made in China
I used to run only Marathons - would last four years, last few changes the Marathons have failed way before they should
I have since switched to Hercules trailer tires - five years and so far so good.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CARLISLE TRAILER TIRES, I SPENT THREE YEARS CONSTNTLY REPLACING TIRES, THEY ALWAYS REPLACED THEM AT A LOW PRORATED PRICE BUT THE TIME LOST WAS NOT WORTH IT, I NOW RUN MARATHONS WITH NOT A PROBLEM YET, NOT TO SAY I WONT HAVE ONE TOMORROW BUT SO FAR MUCH BETTER THAN BEFORE.

I bought a set of Carlisle bias-plys about 9 months ago, after both of my Carlisle Radials threw their tread....
Everyone says to run these at 50psi, but on the tire it says their max is 32. They have terrible wear on the outside edge, pretty much completely bald now. Should I have been running these at 50psi despite the max rating marked on the tire, or did Discount Tire sell us the wrong tires?
I need to go get new tires before the next tournament.

I have Goodyear Marathons on my Rangertrail and just hate them!! I have had at least 3 blowouts in the past few years but can't seem to find any trailer tire that is suppose to be any better. If another one blows out, I will definitely get something different!!

A buddy of mine special ordered some of those U-haul tires. He got them from Discount Tire. They are supposed to be very good tires and durable.

Reading these posts only confused me more...hehe
I went with Carlisle's from Discount Tire. The Marathon's were wearing uneven and that might be due to the trailer but will see in a year or so. I plan on keeping tire pressure decent and driving decent speeds...

Help! I can't find tires for my single-axle Ranger Trail trailer. The 17 year-old Michelin P215/75R14 tires got old, 2 years ago a problem developed with one and I replaced it with a same-size Toyo (Michelin no longer makes this size). Now, I gotta buy two more and can't find any. They're telling me there's a shortage of Toyo tires due to the earthquake disaster in Japan. The problem is that I'm stuck with this size due to the limited fender clearance and the wheel size. And, I need the 1664 lb load capacity (each tire). I'm asking for helpful suggestions. Thanks
