While both Palos Verdes and City Lake have decent fishing....Valley Creek is waaaay better. My 3 yr. old caught his first bass on a texas rigged baby brush hog 2 weeks ago in the dead heat of the day. I caught around 20-25 small bass on a drop shot. About 6 years ago I was there when an older gentleman caught a bass that was every bit of 9-10 lbs.

There is a guy here that caught a 8 pound largemouth out of Palos Verdes. There was also a guy here that caught a 60lb plug flathead out of City Lake. Both posted pics.

in my opinion, unless a pic has surfaced that i am unaware of, and it is a separate fish from the one i witnessed, the afore mentioned 8 lber was only maybe 5 lbs.

i was actually playing in a little league game the day the 78 lb flathead was caught and the local fire dept helped the dad and son land it back in early 90's. there are some monsters in there. biscuit dough and big red soda was the secret bait out there.
