Steven fished Canyon with me sunday evening. Drove around and found fish from 2-15 ft mostly. Anchored up on a nice slope across the lake and patiently waited, got our chance at a toad but got hung up, thus is fishing. Moved and finished out the night with 12 blues and 2 yellas. Biggest going bout 10 or so pounds. All fish coming on shad.
Had a blast Steve and Canyon should be good fishing this summer, defintely gonna get some more of my attention with fuel the way it and the quality of fish.

Man, I had so much fun with Cliff last night. What it comes down to is that Cliff "just wakes up and catches fish!"
It was a really good night of fishing and I have PLENTY of fish for my freezer. Just got home from Tall Tale's house where his wife whipped up a batch. I can't express enough how delicious these kitties from Canyon are. The quality over quantity wins every time with me when it comes to fish here. It was a great night and I had a lot of fun. Thanks again, Cliff!
"Pull? Pull? PULL!!!"
Eric, I was happy!! Glad to hear that you are guiding!
Steven

Well there is my Canyon report. You guys did good and Steve was good enough to share some of those delicous fish with Jo Ann and I tonight. Great job guys hope I can get out soon. Going to have to find another partner to fish with untill Steven and my schedual match back up. he is off during the week and I get the weekends. Hey Steven maybe we should just fish the evenings on your days off, I didn't think of that. Cliff we need to get together soon.

Jo whipped up a SLAMMIN' dinner! I swear I'm going to adopt both of ya'll before the end of the year is over.
Weekdays are cool, but I just want to make sure we do it on your light days. We're just going to have to keep ol' "Delilah" ready to move so that we can hit the ramp when you get off work.

TFF'rs, I cannot impress upon you the quality of the fish that are there on Canyon. No, you won't limit out, but the blues and yellows are of quality size, and these river-fed lake fish are some of the best tasting catfish you can get. 14 fish does not sound like a lot, but the fight these fish dish out, AND the amount of fish weight that you end up with is more than decent. I ended up with just under 4 gallons of fillets. These fish are just outstanding when it comes to taste. I love the fight just as much as any fisherman, but my goal is to get some great table fare. Canyon offers that. If you are like me, then I HIGHLY suggest you hire Mr. Cliff Hill for a night on Canyon. I learned a LOT about Canyon and I will apply it on my next trip. This was a GREAT trip, and I learned how to keep my future trips productive...Oh, and when Cliff talks to you to tell you what you see on the DF and talks to you about tips and tricks....PAY ATTENTION!!! It's NOT about GPS coordinates or "spots." I've had my tail handed to me on many occasions because I've fallen for that ridiculous myth. Fish have fins and THEY SWIM!! Go hunting for them. Just hire Cliffster and he'll show you how to go about targeting the fish. An educated guess based on conditions, weather, and especially, REAL TIME DATA, is the best method for going after fish on a lake like Canyon. I know I'm stepping up my game to be a better fisherman after this trip. It was just too productive to say, "I need to hit that spot again."
Go hire Cliff for a night trip on Canyon and have a blast!! I DID!!!!!!
Steven

Great report guys, Canyon can be tough, but those that fish it regularly seem to do well.
I can't agree more with Steven's advice to hire Cliff, it has paidoff for me too!
Good job guys.

Sweet deal Steven & Cliff.
Canyon has been fishing better as of late.
And your right, can't beat the table fare from there.
