Why not use the trolling motor first to see if its safe? Or is that how you already know its depth?

Not on purpose! Probably only someone that hasn't had real damage...yet. I've had some and don't want to hear that sound again! CRACK!

Check your bank account first to see if you can afford the possible repair bills. If you got the cash to risk it, then fly like the wind! If not, then why take the chance?

The trouble with blowing it is even though the pucker factor gets your attention , you don't want to go through there any other way once you blow it once.

I'm in a pontoon boat. I'll hit anything over 9 inches :p and no it's not a little pontoon, it's 24feet long. If I dump my big storage box and don't have both livewells full it clears like 6 inches. Would have to pull up the trolling motor but I could pole back there.
On the flip side 1.2 feet can go down to 5 inches REAL fast with a tiny sand bar and you can get stuck.
2011 Fish Eagle Mountain Lake: Sandbass x33; PB 1.0lb 13inch. LMB x3; dinks. Benbrook Lake: Hybrid Bass x2; 5.05lb,2.5lb. Sandbass x3; small. Lake Tahoe: Mackinaw Trout x3; 6lb, 4lb, 3lb. Truckee River: Rainbow Trout x1; too small to weigh. San Francisco Bay: Leopard Shark x3; 15lb, 8lb, 7lb.

I wouldn't But remember the puck is usually a few inches down below the surface so 1.2 isn't the exact depth. Next question is the bottom, sand or rock? rough weather? Can you afford a new lower unit? Hmmm

On my home lake there are areas of the mouth of creeks that are so silted in you can't even get through them with the trolling motor when the waters low for a half mile in one area and over a mile in another.
If you know it real good and have trolled in and out a few times looking real close for hidden stumps you can do it.
There's an area of my lake no-one else fishes because of this, i've one the majority of my torney on this lake out of there.
trim it and fly, but make sure you know what you are doing and are comfortable with it.
I've gotten stuck more than once and had to get out and push over the years lol.
i'm not worried about the sand on the bottom, it's the hidden stumps and logs you gotta be careful about.
only you can decide if it's worth it to you.

I'm too scared to try and run it. I went a couple times when I had my old CC but got stuck more than a few times.
