Still feel like I am making too many mistakes but I played around ith the airbrush again today and did a few baits. The first 2 are a DD22 I did in my Sunburned Shad color. The next one in a Strike King 5XD I based on the H20 Natural Shad color. i really liked how it came out. Also did a Rapala DT10 in Sunburned Shad. last but not least is a 2.5 squarebill and a DD22 I based on the Norman Soddy Shad color. Gonna call it Calypso Shad and I like the way it came out too. This is the first time I painted on eyes and its a pain in the butt. Don't laugh too much at the ones on the DT10 and the DD22s. laugh

Mark, do you have a small compressor to run your airbrush or can you use you big compressor, like the one I use to run air tools

You can use a big compressor as long as you put a regulator or gauge on it. I have one made just for air brushes I got at Hobby Lobby.

Iwata Eclipse CS airbrush and a mix of Createx, Anita's and Folk Art brands paints. I am bout to switch over to Createx almost totally as the other paints take too much thinning and mixing to spray.

How much does it cost you to get a set up like that? I like the sound of making my own baits.

The airbrush was $189.99 and the compressor was $199.99 but I got both at Hobby Lobby using 40% off any one item via a coupon they occasionally have on their site. The paints are anywhere from .75-$5.00 per bottle depending on what you want. The clear coat epoxy I use is cheap so its really not that bad. There are a few cheaper Iwata brushes you can get for less than $40 using that coupon.

That is not to bad. May be a project I will have to look into. Where do you get your crankbaits from?

My tacklebox and whatever is on sale. I just paint over the stock colors. There are places you can buy blanks but for now I am using what I find.
