Texas Smoke, having been the Co-Organizer for this event the last 2 years I can speak to some of the points you raise. Number 1, those of us who organized this event the last 2 years live in the North Texas area. TBCOE is a non-profit organization and we paid out 100% PLUS! There have been no tournament director fees. The core group involved in the organizing of the event both years paid out of our own pockets to make the event successful. To try to coordinate such an effort further away from where we live would be very difficult and very expensive.
Yes BassCat does have the OI each year (except this year it was cancelled due to many serious weather related issues at the time it was to take place) There are also a handful of other Regional type tournaments similar to TBCOE that are held in other parts of the country. Texas is a huge state and has a large BassCat contingency. We have thrown the option out to ALL BassCat Owners as to where they would like to have the tournament and both years all of YOU selected a North East Texas area lake.
This is a GREAT event and has been very well attended and supported. Hopefully as it continues to grow it will offer even more opportunity for more BassCat Owners to get involved. Other than the Basscat OI it has been the BEST attended event across the country by far.

Sure hope I can make the date and place. Had a blast last year fishing in a friends Cat and looking at all the other pretty kitty's that I had to go get one of my own. Can't wait.

Put another lake on the vote list and I would vote. How about Choke or Rayburn or Ivie? There are several BCB owners in the Houston and Central Tex areas too. If not, like someone said, may want to call it the North Texas Basscat Owners Event?

Texoma would be a better lake for it, might draw better as well. Doesnt really matter to me, Once the dates are announced I plan to be there if at all possible.

Well this will be a North Texas event again but at least try not to pick opening weekend of "DEER SEASON" I know this is a fishing forum but alot of those hunters have Bass Cat and will not give up Deer over fishing. The whole point is to draw as many boats as you can the more boats the more money the more donation made.
