One Elite pro says its too expensive while 90 others say its not. Personally I experiment with new products and if they work for me I use them. If not I don't. I caught plenty of fish with lead and money and these days I feel like I catch even more with tungsten and fluoro. If a guy takes the time to look around you can find great deals on tungsten and fluoro. If used the right way you can spool more than a few reels with fluoro and I end up having to change line a lot less by using it so it all balances out.

And you are way too worried about what the next guy is or is not using. Its not like everyone blindly buys stuff. Fishermen have more common sense than you realize and products don't survive if they are a fad. They have to work or they go away. Fluoro and tungsten get more popular by the year. That ain't all marketing.

The more products I use that outperform what I had been using catches me more bass. Some cost more, some do not.

I ain't selling you anything at all. Use what you want as I will use what I want but I for sure will not stop using something because it does not work for you.
Like I said you worry too much about the next guy and what he is using.

Good for you. I hope you catch a bunch. I will keep on using what I like and hope you will as well.

Dude I don't know Mark Perry personally but the guy can probably outfish most of us here on the forum. I for one have seen the differences of tungsten myself. Flourocarbon as well.

My dad is a bit like you. To stubborn to try something new. Why did you switch to mono? Mono hasn't been around forever has it?

Another thing, if you fish Amistad you can literally throw anything and catch fish. The big thing is maximizing the amount you catch. I guarantee you that if Mark went onto a boat with you throwing 15 lb mono and lead weights vs Mark throwing fluoro and tungsten he would outfish you 2-1.

Fixed it for you. grin

On a serious note I know some folks don't care to use tungsten and/or fluoro but all I can say is that it proves itself to me. I just honestly care about what makes my fishing better and I am not trying to change anyone's mind. I just don't like to be told what is best for me by someone that has not been in a boat with me or knows if the new stuff makes a difference for me. No big deal. debate is good. thumb
