Neumie comes across as a know it all and likes to roam several boards kinda like you described "a policeman".
Deal is Neumie doesn't have an I-Net Badge and doesn't own his own "Fishing Forum".
I for one as a new kayaker appreciate Neumie's posts and am glad he took the safety of a newby into consideration. I do not however think it was necessary to call names. Who gives a rat's behind if he has an internet badge or own his own fishing forum anyway. Sorry for the rant. Yes it was good to hear that you had a safe trip and caught fish Cub! -Steve

Steve, ... Nuemie's history with me personally goes back to several years ago when my PRO STAFF on the Rockport Rattler jig I got a US Patent on in 2007 and sold last year - well ol' Tony cruised from Houston down to CC and won BIG TROUT 1st PLACE @ Jerry B's Tourney with my invention.
Talk about total silence at the weigh in.
Even ol "Vincent" and "Fishman" were quiet.
If you can imagine that !!!

Tony and I have gone on to bigger and better things.
Hopefully Neumie has as well.

Hopefully Neumie has as well. I have been patient. I have grown thick skinned. I have put up with accusations from The Trout Scout on this forum and others. I'm tired of you continually calling me out on this forum. OK, first off it's Neumie, not Nuemie. It's never changed on any forum, and frankly, if you've ever been confused you could have looked above my avatar. I agree, our personal history goes back several years, at least 2006 if not earlier. Yeah, there is that patent on your jigheads, bravo. I could drop a deuce in a mesh bag and call it the Greatest Catfish Bait Ever and still be awarded a patent. Sooooo, moving along now. I do call to question your next comments. Tony absolutely caught the first place Trout at the March 2007 S&S in Corpus Christi. Tony is a great guy and a helluva of an angler. Y'all also took 2nd place trout in that event as well, I don't see you bragging about that. Those are respectable results, and I truly commend those anglers. However, my biggest concern with your statement is that you neglected to admit all of the results at that event. My teammate and I took 1st place overall with a weight of 9lbs 11oz. Neither of us used your patented jighead to do so. So, at the very least if you want to post half-[censored] facts on the I-Net just remember the true facts are just a Google search away. Because I'm the nice guy that I am I've already done the search for every one: http://www.texaskayakfisherman.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=63633&hilit=neumieOh, I do want full disclosure about myself when it comes to my character and my fishing history. My name is Joshua Scott Neumeyer. My cell phone is 210-865-3781 My email is josh.neumeyer@gmail.com I'm only 26. I grew up fishing and began kayak fishing the Texas coast in 2002. I started kayak tournament fishing in 2006 and quit in 2009. I will furnish my fishing resume at request as I have no reason to hide behind a screen name and avatar. Josh

That's the thing about giving, and receiving advise from the Internet. If your giving advise, you are giving it to not just the person you are speaking to, but many other. If your receiving advise, you can also get yourself in trouble by not getting the Big Picture". Just as it was done here. Advise was given but he didn't disclose the area was dangerous to cross. I thank anyone giving advise to help me or anyone else that might not have known the area.
I'm sure trout scout would not have tried to get someone hurt on purpose. I'm sure he would have came back in time( hopefully before someone new got hurt) and told people of the dangers. It happens. I forget to tell people about the dangers of where I fish too.
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Matthew 4:19

I for one have done some dumb stuff that at the time seemed safe and in hind sight have thought I was lucky to make it through unscathed.
One night shrimping, the capt of a new boat we were working managed to drift a bit while bringing up the nets, during that drifting we caught a tail bag in the prop. With only two of us working the boat and me not being able to drive it at the time I volunteered to dive the prop and cut the net out. Down to my undershorts with a new fillet knife in my teeth I jumped the stern, with out a safety line, and proceeded to hold my breath and do the job. The 1st dive getting past the stern was scary to say the least. We had two anchors out and we're dragging them in the sandy bottom. The drift current was unimaginable, after I acclimated myself to the situation, water temp, and task at hand, I went under for the 2nd time, had the taught tail bag in one hand then grabbed the knife from my teeth with other and making a quick swipe of the thigh thick net, instantly the fresh knife went through like butter. I bet I had a smile of accomplishment on my face for about .25 of a second when the net dragged me out from underneath the boat. Thank god I held firmly to the net and once it came to rest underneath the trawl I climbed up the net, monkeyed across the trawl, a-frame, and then onto the boat. Everything was fine and dandy till we inspected the cut net and realized about 5' of tail bag was missing, that 5' was still wrapped up in the prop. I spent about an hour in the water that night, just holding onto the stern during the ordeal was fatiguing, I eventually got enough of the net out of the prop to put us back underway. The next day I reflected on what I did and an amount of pride was quickly pushed from mind by the lack of common sense used the night before. It was 2-3 a.m. several miles off from land, 15 ft of water, pitch dark aside from the lights that we pivoted to get some sort of light. We'd been shrimping for 5 or so hours which is basically a live bait chum line, drifting backwards and doing it all w/out a life line. I could come up w/ a dz different bad scenarios of what could've happened, bull shark picked me off, boat drifted over a rock pile crushing me, fatigue causing me to lose grip, hit my head on the stern, etc...
The point is, anyone can make a mistake, hopefully when we do, tragedy doesn't rear it's ugly head.
I appreciate this guy trying to prep someone for what they were getting themselves into, not knowing that what had been recommended to him was potentially dangerous. It's easy to say, "I'm sure he's got common sense." Then that dudes out in the drink trying to shoot the gap in a yak. I'd take his cell phone and give him a call thanking him for offering sound advice.
