I am right handed. I believe most right handed people fish baitcasters casting right hand, holding left hand, and reeling right hand. This just seems awkward to me.
I am somewhat new to baitcasters, but grew up with spinning reels casting and holding right hand while reeling left hand.
Any reason I shouldn't use the baitcaster casting and holding right handed, reeling left? thanks.

I am right handed for most things. I tried the traditional way where you cast it out then switch hands so you can reel with your right. It just does not work out for me so I only use left hand reels now. Cast with my right and reel with my left is what works for me. I have one right hand combo that I really should sell because I never use it anymore.

Right handed but use lefties only, no hand switching, better hook sets, more control with fish on for me.

I tried that once. I am right handed and use right hand reels. tried the left and felt as awkward as trying to throw a football left handed LOL

find what is most comfortable for you and go with it. Sounds like you need a left handed reel though.

Same boat here. Bout to get a new reel too...
More comfortable casting right reeling left. Just don't like the wiggle in my body/motion in retrieve. Does this go away after some getting use too the setup/motions?
I cast/right reel/right now.

I'm left handed for writing, eating and casting/pitching/flipping. Right handed in sports and reeling so, it works out good since I never have to switch hands.

I was very young, when I started. I would cast with my right (I'm right handed) and crank with my left. For several years I could not figure out why they had design fishing reels such that you had to crank in REVERSE..... Today, ALL my reels are leftys. They finally got it right...
Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

I have four rods on deck , two left and two right handed.. I use the left handed to cast spinners, and top waters and crankbaits.. I use the right handed to throw plastics, doesnt seem to matter which hand I crank with , I do cast with my right hand on both rigs..switch on the righty , dont switch on the lefty..
