I do admit it is very funny to me to see someone leaning half way off the boat trying to flip like they are trying to flip on a dime time and time again. Then change and do it all over again

It doesn't bother me to sight fish, since I'm just taking a pic (if she's big enough), getting a weight, and letting her go anyways...not all hyped about using a ladder, or a boom off the boat to do so...but that's just me..

Honestly, probably one i can see, because that means i wasnt just blindly throwing into the water, and getting lucky. I had to use skill to catch it.

Just like i would be more proud of shooting a deer i saw, than randomly shooting into the woods and hitting a squirrel.

Just another way people try to take credit away from the accomplishments of others.

I would think it would be just the opposite.

I doubt any decent angler would say he is just blindly casting into the water to begin with, but not to be able to see the fish would mean that you must have faith in what you are doing at the very least.

I don't think its cheating in any way. I also challenge anyone to catch 10 out 10 sight fish that they come across. Its not always as easy as a lot think it is. Especially the bigger fish. I enjoy sight fishing but its not my favorite way to catch them either.

great. thanks for all the comments. I guess you would have to be competing before you could be cheating. I only compete with myself, and the more I sight fish, the harder the competition gets!! laugh

sightfishing is far from easy. i think sightfishing takes more skill then regular fishing. and also sometimes extreme patience. have you guys that are saying its cheating ever even sight fished for big spawning females? try it and come back and say its cheating.

is it considered hunting if you can see the game you are shooting at?

I don't call sight fishing cheating because you are allowed to fish during that time of the year (spawning). Most places I've lived the season is closed.
However for us to defend it by saying it is tougher than regular fishing or you get more satisfaction is completely rediculous. Well when it comes to the satisfaction part that is my opinion.

i guess you better destroy your "fish finder"
asap.

Its really no difference than anyone who
can really read a depth finder. Fish sitting
in 20 foot of water in a certain position
maybe easier too catch than a scared beddin
fish in2 foot. People can waste alot of time
on one shallow fish also. Sight fishing
isnt a walk in the park.
