How are you managing to fish in this ridiculous wind?
Poorly. I've just been looking for semi-sheltered shorelines and doing my best. It ain't pretty, but it's fishing. and I'm jealous of the wife's 1911. I've been trying to decide which make of 1911 I want.
It's a nice pistol. Sometimes she lets me clean it.

Nice step by step, thanks for putting that together. Seems you have found the more weedlesser nirvana! Bet a dark version would be stellar at dusk/night.
SC - Check out Kimber as well as Springfield, both are excellent pieces of craftmanship

Scooter, I was thinking the same thing about a black version. It would have the added bonus of not hanging up as often when your night vision wasn't doing your casting accuracy any favors. My wife shot a custom Kimber a few years back complete with red dot sight and hasn't shut up about it since.

Sorry, I didn't see this question until today. I use safety razor blades like these: I find the name "safety" razor to be funny. I suppose compared to a 6 inch straight razor, these are marginally safer. I purchase these at th' Wal-Mart's for next to nothing. They are usually on the shaving aisle. I prefer Persona brand, but Wilkinson Sword also seem to work well. Once you get them, carefully extract one from the package, leaving one sharp edge flat on a flat surface, CAREFULLY bend the two sharp edges toward each other so that the slot in the blade forms a "hinge". The blade will snap neatly in two, leaving you with a slightly safer "safety" razor blade. CAREFULLY slip one of them back into the package and use the other. If you get one of the two brands I listed above, their box has a handy disposal slot on the back for worn blades. Just use some common sense, and you'll find this is one of the best tools for trimming deer hair around.

You can also grab on either side of the slot with 2 pair of needle nose and worry it in in 2. Keeps delicate skin away from sharp edges.

If it was a tutorial of mine, my fingers would have a bunch of band-aids.
