EBay sites just lowered theirs to the prices that are being advertised. They need to go lower. Are the E7's being discontinued? I wish they would bring back the Silver Curado's.

The Bass Pro people here are saying they do NOT have any in stock, but will instantly have them on Father's Day.
Could it be that they don't want to price match?

I just got back (Academy is only 1-1/2 mile from my house. I only inquired about the 201-E7, they have 4 in stock. I wanted to ask the resident reel guru if it's true that the magnetic brake system does not work if the brake system is pointing up.
In other words, I use lefty reels, I pitch right-handed and crank with my left hand. This means that the brake system is kinda pointing up whenever I pitch. Anyway, he wasn't there, and I'll have to go back (right after the race).
Does anyone have knowledge on this magnetic brake question?
Thanks

THIS kinda seals the deal. I truly appreciate this bit of knowledge. I looked inside the brake system, while I was there, and all I could see was the centrifucal brake system. No wonder I couldn't see any magnets.
Thanks you so much.

The Curado is too good of a reel to go on sale if theres not a new one going to hit the market soon. The new one is going to absolutely blow your mind. Its the best reel ive ever used at a descent price.

I wish they would bring back the Curado 200 HDSV... I have two of those and and 3 of the newer green 200Es .. I would really love the HDSVs.. they are so much smoother... even as old as they are and as used as they are, they still out perform the newer ones.... my opinion.

I donno know.. I can't tell the difference in the weight... my wife and I both prefer the older 200s .. in fact, I still have a black Ambassador 5000 that I fish with that out throws the 2007e... with a much shorter rod

went to academy in tyler yesterday...got a castaway 7'6" med spinning go2 for drip shot. marked at 89 and got it for 39. no rod riot, but alot of rods are dicounted...all stars for 29. didn't have any e5's which i wanted so i went to longview. Had 2 pflurger criterion which i absolutely hated traded them in and got the e5 for 43. Can't beat that. There are still little or no ethos though which is what i was originally looking for.
