What kind of knot are you using? Palomar works good for me.

What size line are you using? What knot are you using? Are you tying it correctly? Is the weight banging against the knot? Are you using a lead or tungsten weight?

Glass bead cuts the fluoro if I'm not mistaken.

Plastic bead would be alright. Or just throw a braid or mono main line with fluoro leader. I remember a post similar to this one a while back and somebody mentioned a bead that made the noise of glass but didn't cut the fluoro.

I don't know if they sell them individually, but I got a pack of glass beads from Academy that also had brass knockers in them that were concaved so your knot doesn't get slammed by the bead or brass. I use those for C-Rigs with a palomar. Just double check for chipped beads because they're what's cutting your line.

Use the pre made top brass Carolina rig set up, that way the swivels on both sides protect your knots.

What you don't want is glass and a tungsten weight. The tungsten will crack the glass. When you tie a Palomar knot both lines that go through the eyelet MUST be side by side and not crossed. If they cross, the knot will break.

I refuse to use a palomar on Flouro broke off to many times no matter how wet you make the knot it will still burn/damage the line on Flouro. I use a san diego jam, or trilene.

Agree with Mike! I have also broke several good fish off fluoro. using the palomar. I'm going to try the S.D. jam knot.
