Flutter spoons and lateral perch. I have thrown both till my arm hurt. At least I catch sandbass on the flutter spoon. Frogs suck for me too.

C rig for me, T rig right behind it. I believe I am the single most awful soft plastic user in Tx. I always have good luck with Crank baits and spinner baits, OK with a Jig, but I consider soft plastics to be a shoulder workout and nothing more. I haven't caught a single fish on a worm since 1985 or earlier probably.

Personally I have a few lure and fishing techniques that I throw/use where I have never caught anything on them. The main ones I can think of are a Carolina Rig or crankbait. Don't know if its how I've fished them or whatever. Just wondering if there is anything ya'll throw that never seems to work? Good Fishing If they outlawed the C-rig and Crank I would quit fishing. Top 2 Techniques for me. Jig. I hate a Jig. It's like Kryptonite for me.

Cant get bit for nothing on a carolina rig. TX Rig and Jigs of different colors are tied on to every tournament pole I use. Just flat out produces the most fish for me.

I need to get better at jigging spoons in deep water.
Mpack will cringe when he reads this! just got off the lake doing that very same thing with MPack... and how did it go? im guessing lots if fish 20-30 ft deep. He was on em good on square bills this spring, now he's killing em deep.

Do well in less than 8 ft on water on jigs..but seem to have trouble with a jig in deep water especially 20ft +..

Football head jig and swimbaits.
They are my tournament partners go to baits and he does well with them but I can count the fish I have caught on them on my hands.

6 months ago, I would say every single hard bait didnt work for me.
So far, Ive now caught them on crackbaits, topwaters, swimbaits, and jigs.
Now, the only one standing and mocking me is the spinnerbait....

For you c-rig doubters, just as in real estate, it's location, location, location. Do your homework and find some offshore pond dams, channel swings, anything that makes a sharp rise out of deep water starting now thru late summer early fall. I throw a baby brush hog exclusively (confidence) and when you find the fish, it's lights out. One of my favorite spots has 15 ft. on either side and 9 ft at the top.

They say the wiggle wart is a can't miss up here and I can't get a bite on it at all. Deep CBs for me don't produce, of course I don't have any experience with the pattern.
