Two ways I rig. Either a Santee-Cooper Rig like this, Santee-Cooper Rig Or a modified bottom rig - don't know what you call it, but in order, tie on: - Standard snap swivel - On the same eye, tie on a tear-drop sinker with a slip bobber between the snap swivel and the sinker - On the other eye tie on either a Circle hook or treble depending on whether you're using live bait or punchbait No need for a three-way swivel, this is cheaper and works better. When you're casting the slip bobber will be out of the way down by the sinker. Once it's in the water it will float up and keep the hook off the bottom. I'll try to take a picture of one of these or draw a picture and post it. If you're using a circle hook make sure you snell your hook.

I've used a balloon rig with a life saver candy as a bobber stop.
it's the crapy days that make the good days that much better!!!

soooo when you add a cigar float to the leader, right before the hook, do you let the float go all the way to the hook or do you keep the float back a cou8ple inches??? and if you do what keeps the float from going all the way to the hook, a bobber stop??

Figured I would start this to just see what people use and maybe help others that see this thread. List any info regarding your rig/rigs you would like. 20LB Mono line, carolina rig, 5/0 cirlce hook, 1.5oz egg sinker on an 8ft rod with spinning reel. This is what it looks like. Except I dont use a different line for my leader. I also use a Palomar knot on everything This is my main cat rig. looking to upgrade to some 25lb braided line and a 9 ft rod. this is the set up i always use!!

I use the Comal floats that have the little black plastic peg. The peg keeps the float from sliding up and down the leader.

pretty neat catfish rig set-up in Texas Sportsman magazine this month. Page 24 "Crankin Out Texas Catfish". Guy makes a rig from bootlaces and buck shot.

Here's a pic <<< AGREE << WORKS BEST WIEGHT ON BOTTOM. 3 WAY SWIVAL. FOR channels try a test if using 2 hooks top hook a piece of fresh shad, bottom hook a shrimp. second pole rig the same way this time referse shrimp and shad. Shad pieces work better than whole shad. A piece of night crawler can be substituded.

I tried the two hook set up last night with two rods off the bank and only caught the sandy off of one, but I did catch these ![](http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc504/spidermanzano/WP_000101.jpg) with a 3/0 vicious hook 12" under a lite bobber. The last one was the biggest.
