What is the best knot for tying on the hook so it will stand out from the line?

Make sure you put the hook on the line with the hook facing up. Tie a improved cinch knot. Once you cinch it down, put end of your line back through the top of the hook eye going down.

Thats how I was taught.

I don't know about you, but if I am throwing a drop shot it's on fluorocarbon. I have never had much luck with a palomar knot with fluoro.

Palomar with the tag end ran back through the eye of the hook. Make sure the hook is pointed up.

I was thinking Palomar simply because I like how it makes the hook stay horizontal.

What other knot would you use? I didn't even know you could do a drop shot with another knot other then palomar?! I'm getting a headache.....too much out of the box thinking for me.

Tie a Palomar knot and then with the hook facing up, bring the tag end back through the eye of the hook.

Some use this instead of the palomar.

Try a double palomar. There are about 3 different ways to tie it, but any of them will work. Just double any one of the steps. Keeps it from slipping.
