If they ever open Lometa Resevoir back up to wade past the fence line, it is a blast out there and not that far from you. Some stupid kids damaged the solar panels at the drain pipe, so the Lometa council closed it.

I'm Fish'n-A-Holic, I just recently picked up my first fly rod after hanging out in the fly shop at bass pro. I picked up their dogwood canyon outfit in a 5 wt as that was reccommended for the river fishing I do and the fact I'm targeting large panfish to small bass. I mainly fish medina river, cibolo creek, and the guadalupe at the state park. I'm still hunting my first smallie since moving here from Florida. I'm located in nw san Antonio, always looking for fishing buddies.

There are several folks here in your neck of the woods, and everyone else's necks for that matter. My advice is keep an eye out for folks on here with their location listed in their profile and don't be afraid to shoot them a private message to see if they want to go fish sometime. You might also want to put your general location in your profile for the same reason.

To send a private message, just click on someone's name, then click "send a PM" and it works just like making a post. Easy as pie.

Some folks also like to send out a general invite along the lines of "I'll be fishing on the Guad on Thursday if anyone wants to join me".

I certainly enjoy the interaction of everyone on here on line, but I've also made some great friends through this site. I've never had a bad day on the water with any of them and have made some memories I'll cherish for a long time. Sometimes fly fishing is as much about the fellowship as it is about the fish.

Ohhhh man, you can stick some nice carp in the medina! Once you get a bit more comfortable with your casting I'd recommend trying for those guys. They'll teach you just about everything you need to know about fly fishing if you'll let them... especially persistence.
