I am in the boat of yeah, keep spraying, but for the love of all that is holy DO NOT put those dang grass carp in it, then you wont have the discussion over spraying cause it will be gone real quick like! Sparying just knocks the grass back, they arent going to eradicate it, and regardless of what we think they will do what the rich folks around the lake want, its all about the benjamins.

I say let em spray if it keeps the landowners happy, because if they learn of grass carp that lake is toast.

i know this has been covered but someone please enlighten me again. the city is using our (tyler residents) tax money to spray grass because the people who live on the lake hate it? Isnt about 98% of the land around the lake whitehouse, arp, or chapel hill? what im getting at is, am i paying for tyler to spray so that someone that doesnt pay taxes gets a pretty lake?

Actually the way I believe it to be is the City of Tyler Water Dept. is footing the bill for the spraying and then increasing the price of water to cover the cost. The problem I have with this is that the people that live around the lake are Paying Southern Utilities for thier water and Southern Utilities has a contract with Tyler Water that can't be increased for a few more years. So the residents of Tyler on City water are covering the cost of the spraying and whatever else our illustrious Town Council is deciding... I want to run for Town Council anyone know how I can do this?

Looks like elections are in 2012 for 2 of the 4 members.

Merv Petersen - Council Member (2012) ---Public Safety Committee, TRED Board

Tom Mundt - Council Member (2012) ---Airport Commissioner, Budget Committee, Investment Committee, Parks and Recreation Board.

Hmmmm... Either that or Mayor.

Yes that is correct, Tyler residents in the city limits are the ones footing the bill on their water bill to pay for the spraying of the lake for those that reside on the shores of Lake Tyler and do not foot the bill on their water bill.

OK, just spell it correctly on the posters and billboards. Don't want any confusion at the Polls.
